Mr Chimney Sweep

I had to contact Mr. Chimney Sweep three times over the course of three days before receiving a response. Their voicemail mentions they’re very busy and suggest visiting their office for a callback (huh??)—problem is, their office is 45 minutes away. When I finally heard back, the contractor explained that their pricing is based on my location on the map. Ironically, the contractor said he was just a minute away at a gas station and could do the work immediately, yet he still insisted on charging me mileage—at a rate of $265 according to his map, though he also mentioned $235. This is a shady business practice, so I tried negotiating based on his being only a quarter mile from my home. He told me he’d need to “call the office.” He called back insisting on $265 rate due to mileage, even though $235 was mentioned earlier. Given the poor customer service and ridiculous mileage pricing, we decided not to proceed with their services. They lost business over $30. Foolish.

Still haven’t received the estimate we paid for 4 months ago and they don’t answer their phone or respond to emails. Save your $140 and find an actual business.
