Chimney liner had some cracks that worried me. They came out this afternoon and sealed everything up solid. Feels safe to use the fireplace again. Appreciate how they explained what was done. Hard to find good service in maplewood, mn.
⭐☆☆☆☆ A chimney cleaning was scheduled for Sunday, March 8th from 2:00–4:00 PM. After the technician changed the appointment time (which was switched back to the originally scheduled window), he still arrived more than 30 minutes late. When he finally showed up, he did not have the equipment needed to perform the job. Instead of completing the cleaning, the technician looked up through the firebox for less than two minutes and then stated that he would need to return with a ladder and that the cost would be higher than the originally quoted $95. The chimney is on a one story extension and is only about 25 feet tall. With a standard ladder, the cap is easily reachable without needing to walk on the roof. Accessing the top and removing the cap is a basic part of a chimney cleaning. While it was mentioned that some equipment had been stolen, that was known before the appointment. Arriving late and unprepared to do the work was very unprofessional. The situation felt like a bait and switch after time had already been set aside for the appointment. Due to the lack of preparation and professionalism, the appointment was canceled and another company will be hired to complete the chimney cleaning.
After two other companies couldn't fix the leak, these folks came and replaced the flashing on my chimney. Water was always sneaking in and messing things up, but now its all sealed tight. They didn’t waste time with confusing talk, just got right to it and finished fast. Honestly, it feels so good not having to worry about rain ruining stuff anymore. Finally, a fix that actually sticks!
The top part of my chimney was starting to fall apart near the roofline. They took it down just below that spot and rebuilt it solid. Looks much better now and feels sturdy. I’ll call them again if anything else comes up.
