⭐☆☆☆☆ A chimney cleaning was scheduled for Sunday, March 8th from 2:00–4:00 PM. After the technician changed the appointment time (which was switched back to the originally scheduled window), he still arrived more than 30 minutes late. When he finally showed up, he did not have the equipment needed to perform the job. Instead of completing the cleaning, the technician looked up through the firebox for less than two minutes and then stated that he would need to return with a ladder and that the cost would be higher than the originally quoted $95. The chimney is on a one story extension and is only about 25 feet tall. With a standard ladder, the cap is easily reachable without needing to walk on the roof. Accessing the top and removing the cap is a basic part of a chimney cleaning. While it was mentioned that some equipment had been stolen, that was known before the appointment. Arriving late and unprepared to do the work was very unprofessional. The situation felt like a bait and switch after time had already been set aside for the appointment. Due to the lack of preparation and professionalism, the appointment was canceled and another company will be hired to complete the chimney cleaning.

Had rust stains running down the siding from the chimney and needed it fixed before it caused more damage. Chimcare in Maple Grove cleaned off the rust and sealed the metal parts to stop it from happening again. The tech was straightforward and explained what needed to be done without any hassle. Siding looks much better now, and I’ll use them again if anything else comes up.

This afternoon Luke from The chimney company replaced the old crumbly mortar on our chimney with a new crown that has the right slope. It feels solid and should keep water out for a long time. Hard to find good service in maple grove, mn but these guys did what they said they would.

Large sections were absent from the perimeter of our chimney crown. The chimney service reconstructed it and added a two-inch extension beyond the bricks. It appears sturdy now and is likely to last longer with continued use. Good work done over the weekend.
