Caps & Dampers

Very pleased with caps and dampers. We have used them in the past for chimney cleaning and they did a great job and very tidy. Also had them replace a chimney liner for me and did excellent work. I recently had them back thinking I needed another clean since I was having some smoke backup into the house. The gentleman came and let me know I didn’t need a clean and then took the time to show me what the problem was and how to manage lighting the fireplace in the extreme cold to avoid smoke backup. He went above and beyond and didn’t charge for coming out. I can’t recommend them highly enough

A service appointment for a chimney inspection and cleaning was scheduled for Oct 9th at 3:30. I confirmed the appointment that morning. After an hour and a half after the appointment was scheduled, I called to see if they were still coming. The call went straight to voicemail. So I got a NO CALL- NO SHOW from them. Good luck if you hire them. Hopefully they will show for you.

One of the best wood stove and liner cleanings I’ve ever witnessed. They showed up on time, they were extremely neat and left the house and stove spotless. They performed a stove inspection and provided valuable information. This was a professional operation to say the least. I highly recommend Caps & Dampers. Pricing was also the best in the valley.

Bad customer service for anything but sweeping. I’ve used them for years for sweeping and usually when they come out they make a note about the flashing around my chimney and how it needs repair. Well this summer I told then I was ready to move forward on the repair. They didn’t want to use their quote from last fall which is fine but they ignored several emails and it took them months to even come out for an updated quote. Well now I have questions about the updated quote would like to make a change to it and these guys have been MIA again. I’m sure sweeping my chimney is low margin but when the opportunity comes up to for real work they don’t seem to want it. Also, this year after my sweeping I now have birds in my wood stove. Was something wrong with the cap? Did I need something fixed? Don’t know, they left and didn’t say anything. Find a more reliable partner for your chimney work then Caps and Dampers.
