Salto Chimney Repair and Masonry Repair

so our house is from 1978 and the brick on the garage side had gotten pretty rough looking. mortar was sandy and you could scrape it out with your fingernail in some spots. also had a crack running along the chimney that made me nervous every time it rained. Salto came out and the initial walkthrough took maybe 40 minutes because the guy was actually looking at everything not just glancing. they tuckpointed the entire garage wall plus did the chimney repair over about three days. the mortar color they matched is almost perfect which was something i was worried about because the brick has that sort of yellowish tone and i figured new mortar would stick out. it doesn't really. chimney crack got sealed up and they put new flashing around the base. one thing i noticed is they taped off our windows really carefully before starting which was a small thing but appreciated. garage wall looks solid again and my gutter guy actually commented on it last week

had our chimney repaired and some masonry work done on the side of the house where the mortar was falling out in chunks. called Salto and they got someone out within a few days which was faster than most places i tried. the estimate was clear, no vague line items or anything sketchy. crew showed up on time and knocked out the chimney repair first then moved to the wall repointing. they were done in about two days and honestly the brickwork looks better than it has in years. my neighbor thought we got the whole thing replaced but its just really good mortar matching. solid work all around and fair pricing too, cant ask for much more than that.

The masonry team did a fantastic job tuckpointing the chimney at my home in Palatine. They matched the mortar color to the existing brick so well that you can't even tell where the old stuff ends. They were very tidy and made sure to haul away all the debris before leaving.
